Depression.
Dosage
Adult Initially 30-40 mg daily. Effective dose: 30-90 mg daily. Elderly 30 mg daily.
Contraindications
Severe liver disease. Mania.Lactation.
Precautions
Elderly. Heart block. Recent MI. Emilepsy, suicidal tendencies. Hepatic or renal insufficiency. Diabetes. Narrow-angle glaucoma, prostatic hypertrophy. Patients receiving MAOI.
Adverse Reactions
Drowsiness. Bone marrow depression, aplastic anemia, convulsions, disturbance of liver functions, jaundice, breast disorders, dizziness, orthostatic hypotension, edema, polyarthropathy, skin rash, sweating, tremor.
